高森美由紀の小説「ジャパン・ディグニティ」を映像化した本作は、青森の伝統工芸である津軽塗、通称“バカ塗り”をテーマにした物語。何をやってもうまくいかず自信を持てない青木美也子が、津軽塗職人の寡黙な父・清史郎との暮らしの中で津軽塗に改めて向き合い、自分の進む道を見つけていくさまが描かれる。。Two groups of young people, from two opposed worlds, who have two things in common: one, they are passionate about dancing and acting| and two, they are going through that period in which life forces them to define their path.。
